[SONG REVIEW] SB19

Debuting last year, SB19 are a Filipino boy group trained under a Korean company named ShowBT and have been making quite a few waves since they surfaced.

Following their first single Tilalua, a ballad perfect for sad Kdrama OSTs, SB19 released a dance single in July. Go Up is as the title states, about going up, working hard to reach for your dreams. It's certainly a perfect way to describe many new idols debuting.

You can clearly see how everything has been laid in Kpop fashion with the synchronised dancing and style of music and singing. The only thing is that rather sing in Korean, it's all in Tagalog. This is certainly something for Filipino Kpop fans to support and if this group can keep things going they'll definitely as their song states, 'go up.'

A confession - I actually really enjoy and often find it refreshing on a personal level when something like this happens and to have it while listening to Asian music it is a massive deal for my soul. It was partly why I gave EXO-M a go and rooted for them till their eventual demise. There were Chinese members who trained in a Korean company but still had the chance to sing in their native language. I also undoubtedly root for South East Asians who are genuinely talented and earn their popularity for their hard work and skills in the Kpop industry (heck if there was a British Born Chinese who had the potential I'd root for them too). I even wave the flag of support for IN2IT's Isaac Voo who is Malaysian Chinese.

Here is the Go Up MV. Good luck SB19.
