SMTOWN's Super group SuperM begin their domination in America and ATEEZ return with a final chapter to their Treasure series.
Even if you are not a dedicated follower of anything SMTOWN, the idea of SuperM is inevitably going to raise eyebrows and create some interest whether you like it or not. Featuring members of EXO, SHINee and NCT with a mix of the dancer line, vocal liners and rapper liners what can you expect exactly?
SuperM's Jopping (jumping and popping) is most definitely a strong way to say hello world. If you are a die-hard SME fan or a fan of all the members of their designated groups, SuperM is perfect for your fangirl/fanboy needs (or maybe it would be too dangerous for you to handle!). The visuals from each member are no joke and who knows what the path will be like for SuperM as they try to introduce themselves to America and the rest of the globe. There are flickers of EXO's MAMA near the end (the little dance break with the guitar section in particular).
ATEEZ are growing in popularity this year and Wonderland's MV shows a level up in fierce-paced choreography and shout out to the world they are idols you should not underestimate. The military look reminds me a little of early era Bangtan Sonyeondan, especially the mindblowing intro performance trailer back in 2014.
I enjoy the idea of this particular story where ATEEZ is encouraging ATINY to look far and achieve their dreams/find the treasure and Wonderland is another addition to this concept. Treasure EP FIN is the group's first full-length album and contains an intro, mid-overtre and an outro along with full-length songs lasting 2-4 mins. Some of the songs on the album are not as hard-hitting as the likes of HALA HALA, Pirate King or Say My Name in previous works and are a little more R'n'B and ballad in places. To conclude the Treasure era with a longer album and softer tunes is acquired taste for the listener. Highly recommend listening to this group's discography from their first EP up till this latest album to form your own opinion.
The island that follows the map is everyone's dream and fear True words, Hongjoong. Also the line immature Peter well that certainly hit home a bit if you are someone with a Peter Pan Complex.
Their comeback stage on Mnet!Countdown is wild. Time to start learning those fanchants in case they come back here for a world tour. Definitely hoping I can see them since I missed out on them when they first came to London back in April around Seonghwa's birthday. Imagine seeing Wonderland live on stage.
