[PERFORMANCE REVIEW] Bangtan Boys

Black Swan is what every contemporary / jazz dancer would yearn for.

Black Swan live performance on The Late Late Show With James Corden was their debut stage on US screens. James Corden has been one of a few talk show hosts who have been welcoming to Kpop idols and you can tell generally the guys are quite relaxed with him having met previously.

Regarding Black Swan itself - I'm still a little uncertain on the song. The orchestral version with the Western dancers has a different impact and give me goosebumps. But seeing Bangtan perform the song to a mix of styles and not limited to contemporary makes me warm up to it actually. The 'do your thang' is catchy, though not really needed. The boys are dancing barefoot, the stage is haunting and they are all simply breathing the music. Each step, each word, each movement. Everyone is engulfed in the song and I appreciate it very much. Jimin has a contemporary background so I thought this suited him perfectly but all those ARMYs/fans saying Namjoon and Seokjin can never dance should just fall back because these two have improved vastly. BTS are almost in sync on this stage. Just imagine them on music shows and on their upcoming tour.

Another comeback teaser video for their upcoming release is of a J-Hope solo song "Ego" . Very Hobie-sounding. Incredibly colourful and matching his bright personality so well. I'm certainly curious to how this next chapter of Map Of The Soul will turn out.
