[PERFORMANCE ROUNDUP] MONSTA X, BTS, GOT7 + ATEEZ

A roundup of favourite performances from the latest music awards.

MMA 2019 full stage for Bangtan. Beyond epic, a welcome return to the guys after a break from their long touring over the year.

BTS's MAMA 2019 stage featuring Intro, N.O. and We Are Bulletproof pt 2 rock version. I love the nostalgia and I still prefer the old logo. As much as I enjoy the deep, philosophical angst the group dive into - much to the dismay of fans and haters alike - some of their older songs prior to the HYYH era still appeal to me endlessly.

The group's performance for Boy with Luv and Mikrokosmos was touching and sweet. The caption Map of the soul - journey to myself is something that I question for my own self.

MONSTA X have been going through quite a bit no doubt ever since Wonho left but they soldier on no matter what as a sextet. Rapper Line show the MAMA crowd in Japan they are not to be messed with.

Forever and Never Die is the song Rapper Line perform which then leads to their latest single Follow.

Middle Of the Night is their latest English single and it's surprisingly good. Who Do You Love was certainly catchy but this particular song was unexpected. You can tell Wonho was edited out of the promo photos and his voice still lingers in the original recording.

GOT7's MAMA Stage has a cool intro followed by Eclipse and You Calling My Name. The group's latest single is on repeat and I enjoy the mature grown sound these guys are showing.

ATEEZ's MAMA 2019 red carpet performance has Say My Name and Hala Hala remixes.

ATEEZ'S MAMA 2019 stage features Wonderland and a mashup of SHINee's View, MISS A's Goodbye Baby and Bangtan's Blood, Sweat and Tears. Fitting how Wooyoung started Blood, Sweat And Tears (he's a former BigHit trainee and looks exactly like Jimin, also a big ARMY fanboy!). Also, Song Mingi's return to the stage after sitting out of previous performances due to an injury was really something.

The group's MAMA dance practice is worth a watch.
