EXO Vocalist Chen makes his solo debut and BASTARZ are back with a new title track to celebrate the release of their third mini album.
Beautiful Goodbye - Chen
Chen / Kim Jongdae has proven what a power vocalist he is in EXO and has released his first solo mini album with the title track Beautiful Goodbye. As the song name suggests, it is about a break up with a girl and while telling her not to forget their previous happiness Chen is wishing her well as their old relationship fades away and that she can find another man.
It is a melancholy song with only a piano as the main instrument. The MV simple with the setting outside in a large field. Dancers surround Jongdae as he sings sombrely by a tree. I love the soft colours in the MV as it suits the rather sad ballad theme.
Help Me - BASTARZ
After their pre-release From Seoul (written by B-Bomb), BASTARZ officially make a comeback with Help Me. The guys have had a long night with someone (a date gone wrong during the night perhaps judging by the suits) and they're feeling the angst the following day. In the MV P.O. starts off as the one coughing out blood with cuts and bruises after a car crash, BBOMB is draining his pain away with a cigarette in his hotel room and U-Kwon is looking lost in the forest. Help Me sounds like a definite cry for help from the guys who want their girl to comfort them as they recuperate. P.O.'s parts in Help Me often catch me off guard here.
The MV in general is not for kids. You can see the 19 certificate in the top right hand corner when you start watching the video. I was not expecting that much blood to be coughed up by P.O. This heartache and angst is quite serious it seems. No idea how the rest of the album will sound but if this is the kind of theme that will be throughout the mini album, it'll be interesting indeed.
