[SONG REVIEW] DAY6 + Yoshiki and Sarah Brightman

While they currently embark on their first world tour (with Europe dates next month), DAY6 return with Youth Part 2 mini album.

Also Yoshiki's Miracle, which you may have heard as an intro at his and X Japan's concerts, gets special vocals from Sarah Brightman.

The title track for Youth part 2 is Days Gone By and wow how funky is the retro/80s synth pop sound? Even the colour scheme in the MV is making me feel nostalgic from my 'youth' of the 80s and 90s. It is truly a feel good track that you will inevitably find yourself bopping to without realising it. The song is about the end of the road in a relationship, reminiscing on the good memories that eventually makes you feel it wasn't so bad and perhaps worth it after all even if it is all over.

Opera singer Sarah Brightman brings her vocals to Yoshiki's Miracle along with a choir. Both superstars have met each other previously through Repo The Genetic Opera where Sarah lent her voice to the soundtrack which Yoshiki helped produce.

Sarah brings Miracle to life much like the original composition and makes it work well. Check out a live performance below.
