[SONG REVIEW] Kim Seokjin

It is finally Kim Seokjin's turn to present an intro track for the next Bangtan album LOVE YOURSELF 結 Answer.

Epiphany is featured in the Answer album comeback trailer and contains multiple facets of a sombre Seokjin going about his usual routine which consists of sitting on the sofa (deep in thought), freshening up, changing then going out. The MV starts off black and white but slowly transitions back to colour as he reaches into his wardrobe and walks out the door into the rain. With the colour you find Seokjin has dyed his hair to blond and he's not caring about the fact he is getting really soaked. The cycle of the routine continues and you may notice the colour of the MV fade back to black and white. It's only when Seokjin gets up from the sofa to close the curtains does everything stop and we then get a glimpse of all seven of Bangtan by the beach. Fans may recognise this specific scene from previous MVs and album trailers.

Visually, the entire MV is a treat. Seokjin's angst is evident and his overall look here has him glowing throughout. The song makes my heart burst because his vocals shine. Seokjin's solo song Awake from the Wings album tore me into pieces and it's happened yet again with epiphany. A love that could never work out, he realises he should learn to love himself. Yes he's not perfect, he acknowledges it however also acknowledges the beauty of himself/his soul. It might sound rather narcissistic when said aloud but in this sense saying such a thing is coming from picking one's self up after what could be possibly be so many mistakes in the past or perhaps a lot of obstacles that made him lose faith in himself.

I guess I should take note from Seokjin since I'm one of those types who has grown a mindset on the lines of --> If one can't easily love another, how can one love themselves?. The Epiphany MV is very much a reflection of my own soul.

The next thing I am curious to know about is how the rest of the album will be laid out? Will it be dark like Tear? Will it be more uplifting in the Answer chapter?
