[SONG REVIEW] Shangri-La - VIXX

VIXX's new single Shangri-La. Can we just say ooh ahh?

My inner Starlight may have come back to these guys after an absence from listening to their music for some time. Shangri-La talks about being deep in seduction by such beauty. What really stood out to me while listening to this song was how the line distribution was more balanced than their previous singles. Every single person got a turn, they had enough lines to share from start to finish. And yes, even Ravi's rapping is easy on the ears. I realise his rapping style is a Marmite thing but rest assured cynics, it works well here. Shangri-La is one of VIXX's more chilled tracks, not too dancey or ballad yet still manages to throw a shot to the heart with the vocals and rap.

This comeback is inspired by the Chinese fable The Peach Blossom Spring and from watching the MV you can tell the stunningly aesthetics pay tribute to the traditional hanfu - the light robes, the delicate material enabling VIXX to move gracefully. The choreography is suave yet also delicate by using fans to compliment the smooth dance routine.

My favourite part of the choreography was when Ravi and N sleekly lean on one another's shoulders while back to back. I honestly let out a gasp when I first saw this in the MV because of how seamless it appeared.
